Arts and Crafts - Message from Linsay
After careful consideration due to a change in circumstances and a drop in participant numbers I have decided to step away from leading the Arts and Crafts Class. I have worked with the MS/AIMS Artists and Crafters for nearly 10 years! I am incredibly proud of everything we have achieved during that time. Highlights are definitely our amazing exhibitions at Bonnymuir Green and craft fairs which raised vital funds for AIMS. The benefits of the class during lockdown were immeasurable, creating connections and a wonderful sense of community during a very challenging time. It has been a privilege to work alongside such a talented group. Inspiring and encouraging the Artists and Crafters to realise their own artistic potential has brought such joy over the years and has been incredibly rewarding for both parties! Without the MS Art Class I would never have had the honour of meeting all the wonderful people in particular our dear ‘art’ friends no longer with us, Maureen, Tim and Ross. I will never forget all the happy times we have shared together. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in AIMS for this creative adventure and wish all the Artists and Crafters good luck on their own creative journey. My last class will be Monday 24th November.

Morag and Jennifer
RGU Physio Student visit
We were delighted to welcome Jennifer Clinch from RGU to our class recently. Jennifer got in touch since she wanted to find out more about what we do, especially in relation to physio led exercise. She stayed for both classes, chatted to all the participants and helped out in the second class. Jennifer's experiences of her visit were very positive. "I had the amazing opportunity to help out in the exercise class for individuals with MS today. It was very insightful to learn about how the social aspect of the class has supported them through an otherwise isolating and difficult experience. The participants all mentioned the physical benefits of the class and it was inspiring to see everyone’s perseverance to maintain their independence. The Physios were amazing at adapting each exercise to suit the needs of the individual so everyone is able to engage and participate in the exercise, despite having very different capabilities. All the volunteers were very welcoming and informative about the organisation and it was lovely to see there are charities like this making such a positive impact on people’s lives."

MBE for our Chair
Our Chair, Ian Gourlay, being presented with his MBE by David Cameron, Lord Lieutenant of Aberdeen in recognition of over 50 years working with various charitable organisations. Well done Ian, richly deserved!
Nicola's MS Story
A great article about living with MS and refusing to give in. A fitting tribute too to her mum Maureen who was a stalwart of AIMS and did so much to support us. Maureen was a talented artist and crafter and with the help of her fellow arts and crafts members raised several thousand pounds for MS support locally.
